5 Tips for Selling Your House This Spring
The snow is melting, the weather is warming up, and people are ready to get out into the neighborhoods and start socializing again. At Tyler Goff Group, this means a new selling season, so we’re here to help you prepare your house to sell this spring.
It Is Still a Seller’s Market
Yes, interest rates are rising, and housing prices are slowing that crazy climb they have been taking these last few years, but it is still a seller’s market.
The ball is still firmly in the court of the seller to make top dollar on their house.
Demand is still high, but houses are in some cases taking a bit longer to sell, which means now is the time to stage your house for ideal viewership and get it on the market with the help of an experienced realtor who knows how to price it, when to list it, and how to market it.
If you’re concerned that you won’t have a new house to move into, Tyler Goff Group is here to ensure you get the closing conditions, including the move out date, that is right for you, and to help you find your next home. We’ve got the inventory and the connections to make it happen.
Spring: Strike While It’s Hot
So strike while the iron is hot - spring time.
The biggest thing we’re watching now is the interest rate rise, which, as current rates hover around 6.6% for a 30 year mortgage.
Right now, housing prices are going down, and interest rates are going up, so you want to hit that sweet spot right in between.
5 Tips for Selling Your House This Spring
Make Basic Interior and Exterior Repairs
You know the drill. It is pretty much the routine every spring cleaning. Outside you can clean out your gutters, power wash the siding, fix any broken planks in your deck or balcony. Inside you can put a fresh coat of paint on the walls, fix holes in the floor, polish the floors if need be, repair any broken appliance.
Clean and Declutter
Freshen up your space to look like you just moved in. Clean the drapes or blinds. Paint your window sills a fresh coat of white. Clean out your garden and yard of debris leftover from the winter.
Make It Modern
Think bright whites and other fresh, happy colors like muted blues and grays, greens and yellows. You want your space to feel light, airy, and uncluttered. It’s time to make a dump run and get rid of all those items you have not used or looked at in over a year.
Plants, plants, plants!
Both indoors and outdoors, plants are a huge attraction for potential buyers. Head to the nursery and talk to someone there about what plants are best for your particular yard, particularly under your windows in the front of your house or on your front porch.
Indoors, you could put a few hanging plants in corners or fresh cut flowers on the kitchen counter.
Get a Trusted Realtor
And finally, of course, make sure you have an experienced realtor that you can trust to advise you on all things staging and take off your plate all the little things you should not have to worry about.
